This project is located on the east side of the intersection of Shenpu Road and Chapinggou Road. It covers an area of 4.5 mu and was transformed from an idle crab pond in Henggou Village. Construction began in May last year, and equipment installation started in November last year. Currently, most of the main equipment has entered the commissioning stage.

After the rice is transported to the center, it has to go through more than 20 processes such as drying, ridging, and color sorting. Finally, each bag of rice can be quantitatively weighed and vacuum-packed, achieving a fully automatic and full-chain service from rice husking to fine processing and finished product packaging. Gu Chunhong, deputy secretary of the Party branch of Henggou Village, introduced that the center is equipped with a series of advanced automated equipment such as dryers and rice processing lines. It has also added functional areas such as rice and wheat packaging workshops, grain storage silos, finished product warehouses, and product display areas. The daily rice processing capacity can reach 30 tons.

Xu Hong, a major grain grower in Henggou Village, clapped her hands in approval of the completion of the rice processing center. There is not a single rice processing center within a radius of several dozen kilometers around us. Every time there is a bumper harvest, the handling and processing of the rice is a difficult problem. Xu Hong said that last year he contracted 101 mu of high-standard farmland in Henggou Village. The harvest was good that year, with a total output exceeding 50 tons. However, how to process the rice has been a real headache for him. As there was no processing center nearby, he could only rent three dump trucks to first transport the rice to Huangtu for drying, and then reload the dried rice and transport it to Yixing for processing. It took nearly a week, and the transportation cost alone was nearly 6,000 yuan.

This year, Xu Hong's contracted high-standard farmland has expanded to 260 mu. After the expansion of planting, he is full of anticipation for the commissioning of the Zhenglu Henggou Rice Processing Center. He predicted that after the processing center was put into use, more than 60% could be saved in both transportation costs and time costs this year. "Previously, processing rice was both troublesome and costly. Now, with the processing center right at our doorstep, we can save a lot of time and money, and also focus more on cultivation." " Xu Hong said.

Since 2021, Zhenglu has built nearly 2,800 mu of high-standard farmland. Currently, the town has a total of nearly 6,000 mu of high-standard farmland. After the processing center is completed, it will fully meet the grain processing demands of the entire town. At the same time, it can also radiate to some villages and towns in the surrounding Jiangyin and Yixing, providing them with high-quality processing services. Liu Zhen, director of the Agricultural and Rural Affairs Office of Zhenglu Town, said that in the next step, Zhenglu Town will actively explore effective ways to increase agricultural income and improve the quality of agricultural products. It will integrate rice processing, modern technology and smart agriculture to achieve sustainable development of the entire rice industry chain, including planting, harvesting, storage and sales.
